four little pigs

We were given two new guinea pigs over the weekend from a friend who no longer were keen on them. they have settled in so easily and quickly learned to join in the squawking when they want food! I have small clumps of wheat growing all over my garden: we buy straw for their enclosure; this gets put on the compost when we give it a cleanout, and the compost gets put back on the garden for mulch. Obviously a bit of the wheat seeds again and then in turn the fresh grass gets given to the piggies to eat. So organic it makes me gasp!!!

lets go fly a kite

After church this morning we went here:http://www.capetown.gov.za/en/Pages/FamilyfunatZandvleiInternationalKiteFesti

(yay..created a link!)

I could kick myself for not taking the camera! it was a breathtaking day in the city and just the right amount of breeze to keep the kites afloat. Mike bought me a pinwheel (I think that's what they are called ) -these somehow symbolize my childhood -and therefore i could also behave like a child and not let anyone else play with it...(just for a bit anyhow).

Fatcat so far has spent the entire day in my chair -maybe if i got to sit at my desk i could get a bit of filing done...

first time lucky

So this is my first try at the world of blogging. Inspired by the posts of the many crafty people on the web -I thought I would give it a go. I hope somewhere in the world someone will drop by! I have just returned from the most AWESOME hike -you can learn more about it here -http://www.wildcoastholidays.co.za/hiking/meander and I hope to post some photos soon -but for 5 days we stopped the world and got off. Now trying to get back on is proving to be a little tricky -I have to remember how to do things like think and drive a car....

Learning how to blog and do all the clever things on the page is just one bridge too far but I will keep
working on it and hope it gets more ecxiting with time!

Meantime fatcat hasnt yet moved since curling up last night on Robs' bed. Wish i could curl up for the day too...
