christmas in october

We have friends who have hosted a Christmas Dinner for the last 25 years.
For the last few years I have been doing the table decorations.
This year we had Christmas early as they will be away in December.

Start with white tablecloth, sparkly runner and silver chargers...

add an assortment of glass jars and tea light holders

add floating candles, tea lights, small pillar candles baubles and roses

plus lots of beads and crystals and silver and white stones

then have yourselves a very merry time!

These things brought a smile to my face:
this magazine which arrived in the post -cant wait to get started on the owl...

my ripple cushion which is one more colour away from completion...

and this cute facebook comment!

Happy hooking

for the hero in you

the last few weeks I have been putting together stationery sets...

packaging jelly babies..

folding origami CD envelopes...

laminating placemats...

and sewing drapes.

Last night we finally set up our House Leavers Dinner:

I love it when a plan comes together :-)

retreat to the countryside

I had an opportunity to go on a lovely retreat this weekend, so didn't get much stitching done, but found all this vintagey loveliness in the local museum.

How about this lovely tea cosy?

I did get lots of crochet done, so will be showing that off on Thursday.
(Apologies on behalf of Blackberry for rather poor photos :-( )

take my card

We had fun running a card-making workshop on a Ladies Retreat this weekend.

loose ends

This crochet hook holder I started awhile ago and finally finished.

Still a few ends to finish off but it will look like this:

So now I can work on with the Ripple Cushion Cover with a clear conscience.

Both patterns from this lovely book.
